I have had some fruitful journeys in the wilds around Balmora, fighting, stealing and murdering.. and find myself with an amount of items worth what some would say was a small fortune.. however I can find no person with whom I can trade, due to the vendors only having a small amount of gold.
You all speak of gaining valuable items, but with whom do you trade them with?
And please, no talking Mudcrabs.

you can trade valuable items with the creeper in Caldera.
Just make sure you don't sel quest items accidently, or you need to buy them back later.

But Creeper only has $5000 gold - what if you want to sell something worth $35000? Is there any way to do that? |

either get some 1000-5000 and sell to creeper. then sell him the 32000 items and buy the others back.. or you could make/download a plug in to give him more money |

but then I haven't washed my robe for a long while?

Where is the mucrab exatly? Argon there are mods to increase the amout of cash thhat the Creeper has or you could go into TES and then on the 1st window on the bottum right there is a window, scroll down until you find something like: Caldera Grabol(or whatever those orcs names are) house. and then double click on that to bring it up and now o the 2d window on the bottum right there will be a list of everything in the house. Find the creeper and double click him to bring up his menu. Around the bottum of that there will be a tab called AI click it. when that opens there will be a menu you are in and another tab on the top that u have to click. once in the secound mene there will be a place to edit his barter gold. |

Forgive the harsh post above... the mudcrab merchant is found in the Bal Fell region on an island west of Mul Grotto, south-west of Releth Ancestral Tomb, south-east of Mzahnch, north-east of Hinnabi, north of the Deserted Shipwreck, and north-east of Yakanalit. 
You can look up some of those names here.
