Has anyone played Outcast? It came out a few years ago and used voxel graphics. but it was absolutely great! Loved the story, loved the adventure. But I never hear anyone talking about it ever. It was easily the best RPG I'd played... until Gothic.
I like Quake type FPS or TPS style games, so I guess Outcast an Gothic got me going quick. Had to get used to Gothic controls but the great gameplay outweighs its pitfalls.
Anyone know of any other FPS TPS type RPGs? And how good do you rate them? |

RPG: Morrowind:
It is just a little confusing and boring sometimes.
I haven´t played it enough to rate it but you can allways look in it´s forum.
FPS: Soldier of fortune 2 (when it comes out):
There is a demo but I have´nt tried it.
I have´nt played it yet but is sdoesn´t seem to be a specially good.
TDS?
Another really good game is Jedi knight 2: Jedi Outcast.
I think that is a really good game.
I would rate that 87%. _________________ There once was a youngster, DzD

I've tried the SOF2 demo. I think it's an okay game. Nothing really interesting or special. It's just like every other game of its type.
And I agree that Jedi Outcast is fun! Sometimes when I get bored, I just swing the light saber, looking at the cool effects. _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

If you liked Outcast, you sould definitely try "Omikron - The Nomad Soul". Remark - being David Bowie's fan is an advantage
Excellent game, with a lot of freedom and some Tekken - like combat elements. Hey, you can even buy books in bookshops about combos. PLAY PLAY ! |

I've heard fantastic things about Morrowind. The graphics is supposed to be superb. Been thinking of getting it. But they also say you need a killer computer to run it. Omikron? I heard of it but I think a good while back. It's worth a look? K, will find out more about it.
Yes, I've finished Jedi Knight 2. Good game and it helps if you're a Star Wars fan like I am and have played many other Star Wars games before this. I also finished this superb game: Men of Honour. Brilliant graphics and atmosphere. But they're not really RPG games.
Can't wait for SOF2 too. And now Gothic 2 also. |

Indeed Omikron is not the newest game around, but also is not very old. It's like futuristic older brother of Gothic. |

I bought Outcast some year(s) ago... It was realy good! But now i hate it, if i just find the CD i will break it.
Becouse its going smoother on my P200 Mhz with a Voodoo 2 than my AMD 900 Mhz, 256 Mb RAM and a Geforce 2 GTS... becouse you need like a Pentium processor to run it smooth. |

I would recommend checking Deus Ex or System Shock 2 out. Both are set in the future and you’ll be able to use fancy weapons and body implants.
SS2 is a slower FPS/RPG where you have to use caution and manage your supplies carefully. It’s pretty scary too.
Deus Ex is similar but is faster paced.
Try looking out for them.
I’m not too impressed with Omikron. They tried mixing FPS, fighting and adventure in one game. I only liked the adventure part and the fact that Bowie was in it. He is a fascinating person even though his music is a bit strange. |

DeusEx is excellent game. Just get it and finish it before DeusEx 2 is released . SS2 is good as well, but I find SS1 better. There was one thing I really disliked in SS2 - psi powers. Imo it just don't fit into this type of game. It looked like - "hmmm, we made rpg, but we need some magic. well let's do it and rename it to psi powers". Neverthless I played this game about 16 hours / day during one week. It was beautiful week
About Omikron - because of this game I started buying Bowie's albums. FPS part of this gmae isn't too good, but the rest (including Tekken like fights) is excellent. You can always try demo first. |

hexen and hexen 2 were excellent games. and they fall into both the RPG and FPS category. if you're a fan of both, invest in a copy of em. heretic was good too, but kinda cruddy graphics, and heretic 2 was just plain boring. _________________ =Follower of Righteousness=

I think the idea to have psi powers was ok but it could have been done much better. It was way too unbalanced to play a psi focused character. The fact that you really don't need psi powers anywhere in the game makes it a waste of upgrades. |
