Quest Reset Cheat or Hack

I would like to know if there is a way to reset a side quest so that you can attempt it again without going back to an old save game. I was given the Shany quest and without realizing it set the trigger in motion that caused her to die and made the quest unsolvable. I then spent about TEN hours getting further into the game before I realized that I had messed up the Shany quest. There is no way that I am going to lose ten hours of my life to go back and solve this quest and I do not feel like redoing all the stuff I have accomplished. It would be great to know how to reset the trigger for this quest so I could just go and complete it. I appreciate any help I can get on this matter. Thanks

Ah, if only we could reset life just like that.

But alas I hit the pause, rewind, and reset button day in and day out, but it never works.

Seriously though, it sounds like you're looking for a savegame editor. Possible maybe, but I haven't seen one yet.
