I like my icon And I do like having a seperate topic here Thank you Rendelius.

>>Well, to be honest, I can at least guess why some people think it's a Diablo clone. From the gameplay movies that have been released so far, one must come to thinking that there's some Diablo in Divinity. <<

True - but how on earth do you cram something rpg-like into a movie ? We tried, but the things always tend to become very large.

As for a preview version, we're actually touring next week in Germany with it, and handing it out to a select few. I hope that'll get rid of the Diablo thing once and for all.

And as far as a public demo is concerned - that one will be out before the game hits the stores.

Hehe yes, we should at least have a female peasant icon, shouldn't we ?

The Divinity news almost knocked me off my feet yesterday . Can't wait for that demo to come out.
I know some people have already asked this question in the Larian forum but would any of you (Lar or Lynn) mind sharing the content of the demo with our readers as well ?
Else, I would have to copy and paste your statement from the Larian board to here and you don't really want me to do that extra work, do you ?

OK, seriously. Got any demo details ?

1) Is it an epsiode from the actual game ?
2) If so, from the beginning of the game or mid game (I reckon you won't put the final battle in the demo, right ? )
3) What about file size ?
4) Are you planning on an exclusive deal with a gaming/online mag ? I'd prefer if you'd release it to as many sites as possible so everyone can choose his/her fastest d/l connection.
5) How about making the download link available in the "Fansite Datamine" at the Larian boards a day earlier than anywhere else ?

Joupiejee!!!
RPGDot becomes very famous in RPG-land .
The best RPG-games have their own forum here and their developers are coming to speak to the fans about their treasure

I'm not saying anything anymore - the minute I say something here I read it on rpgdot's news and then it goes all over the place and it comes to back to me and I go crazy over it and I...and I...and I.....I really need a bone now

Honestly, can't give you straight answers yet, we're still planning it. But should be the first part of the game, and maybe, just maybe, it'll fit on a CD

Well, you can always say:"Not for public release" which doesn't make much sense when posting to a public board but you can still try if it works .

Err... "maybe on 1 CD" ? *gulp*
Well, why not ? IIRC there was a BG demo on German print gaming mag cover CD's which consumed one full CD of the two CD's and they had no problem publishing it.
Should work with Divinity as well and a demo of that size will definitely attract lots of attention .

Well, I missed Lar in Munich!!! *grrrrr*
Lar, you were in my home town yesterday and free after 4pm - so was I, only minutes away from Gamestar...next time call me please!

So, Stiletto, I didn't get Divinity - see?
Even I am a nice guy (thanks for the flowers:) ) I don't get all the demos first.

Anyway, the more I read about Divinity, the more I want it and: Lar, you and your staff can come here for October fest - some of our crew and maybe even some Gothic and Gorasul developers will be here

I made sure you're going to get one - you'll just have to wait until the printed magazines come out (all online press basically has to wait for that), because otherwise they'd eat us alive.

As for München, yes, a real pity. But nonetheless, I had fun

@Lar: Kewl - not to let everyone complain that I grab all the betas, I generouly let it have someone else, e.g. Moriendor, who runs his own Divinity site...

BTW, I have applied for Divinity's beta testing. Will only be able to do it if there's "home based" testing though. Well, the CDV dude said there's a good chance I'll be in . Really looking forward to it. Should be fun .
