Lineage 2: Open Beta Launched

NC Soft has now launched the open beta for its fantasy MMORPG sequel 'Lineage II'. Head over to the <a href="http://www.lineage2.com/" target="_blank">official website</a> if you want to get a glimpse at the game. The open beta is supposed to last at least one month and the good news is that characters created now will not be wiped once the commercial service begins. The client weighs in at roughly 1GB so be prepared for a little wait. It also seems like there are log-in issues at the moment and the servers are suffering from a massive onslaught of open beta testers. <br>In other words: A typical MMORPG launch day disaster seems to be forming up over at NC Soft but they are working on it according to the official website and will be bringing up more servers shortly.

Yes, a typical launch day -- things will get better though. I got lucky last night and scored a login within seconds of it opening, so i got all my names reserved. <phew>

It's not possible for me to download the client either; it says there are too many people accessing the website.

Worst, launch, ever,

I got disconnected and I havn't been able to get back in, that was about 5 hours ago. This game has been out in Korea for awhile, what's the problem? I don't see myself buying this game.

yeah I've been playing this open beta for a while and it has occurred to me: this game is the biggest time-sink I've ever played. Item drop probabilities for many monsters are in the hundreths of a percent! You have to devote an incredible amount of time treadmilling and farming in order to afford some of themost basic items!
