Pixel Shader 3.0 in Upcoming RPGs

This is a bit off the beaten track for RPGDot but I thought a few readers might like to know some of the upcoming games we cover will have Pixel Shader 3.0 support...so you better start saving for that Geforce 6800 Ultra. According to ActionTrip and nVidia, VtM: Bloodlines, Grafan and STALKER will support the new Pixel Shaders.

I was hoping to wait till DirectX10 is released before upgrading my 2 year old GF4 Ti4600. Maybe I'll just wait till ATI releases their new card and then get a budget card with PS3.0 support.

We live in hope. I hope budget PS3.o isn't an oxymoron. Prices for cards can be ridiculous, needing new power supplies also. It could cost US$650 and a new power supply $?100 just to play a game that may suck. WIZ8 is my defence, a great game with graphics that never interfered and ran on most rigs.

As far as I know, ATI doesn't support Pixel Shader 3.0 in their upcoming R420-cards.

Ouch, no PS3.0 in the ATI R420 cards? I don't really like buying Nvidia cards after the Futuremark fiasco with the FX5600.

I am sure ATI will anounce a PS3.0 card soon. They are most likely waiting for the PCI Express to be released.
