Crossbow vs Bow & Training...

Since my character is gearing up to Paladin I will likely go eventually with the two-handed sword. What about the bow vs crossbow?? They too take up precious training points. How do they work...crossbow fires much faster but the bow does more damage?? Thank you for your opinions.

Bow and xbow will train the same as 1H and 2H. Once you reach marksman in one, you'll train both. So it's easier and faster to train each up to marksman and then decide which one you want to master. I reccomend xbow, as those weapons deal out more damage and the bigger ones take less dexterity to handle than damage they do. The bigger bows take more dexterity to use and do less damage. The more dextrous you are and the more training you have dictate how fast you fire. I found the xbow fast enough considering the damage it does.

Hey there Flora Steel,

I found that later in the game the demon bow was more than ample, it was very fast and powerful (at high dex) 5 wolves would be dead before they reached me!

Well, you have plenty of time to decide. You may not even need bows since you will have spells more than enough effective against orcs and such. But you do need a ranged weapon of one sort or the other as your damage evil spells do not hurt animals such as wolves and snappers. They are great against wargs and dragon snappers and the like. Once you see how fast you can get at higher dex, you can decide then.

This is a fun and different kind of crpg. It is all about level, strengths, and training and very little about gear you wear it seems. I miss armor, boots, gauntlets, helms, etc.

crossbow is best, they do much more damage, wich compensates the slower fire rate by a long shot
