Monsters will only respawn at the beginning of a new chapter, and then only a few will respawn.

If you are still in chapter 1, and are feeling brave, I would head into the woods. Or to the swamp, but I would make sure I saved often. Oh, If you haven't tried it already, take a little stroll to the Orc lands....but don't expect to come out in one piece. Good luck! |

A bunch of wolves will respawn in a small forest next to the south gate.
This is one of the reasons I had to raid and clean up the whole map before switching the chapters - just a few of them respawn and unfortunally those that give little experience.
You can also use the fact that you get experience when you first beat up people, then again if you shoot them. Please do not blame me for cruelty - this is just an observation (but I used it on Lefty and Rice Lord). |

Respawn takes place of each new chapter or sometime by quest.
Divin, has the point , clean up all you can in each chapter before you advance to the next.
Beat up people will give you some xp, after you beat them up. "Late in the game when some NPC are no longer needed" use your summoned monster to kill the people you beat up earlier, you will get some more xp from that. Note, you wouldn't get XP if you kill them yourself. Oh then there is the monster you summoned |

MightyDeer, you do get XP when you shoot someone you've beaten up before. I checked that - it works. You do not get XP second time if you just finish them with your melee weapon. |

I've found that in the Temple of the Sleeper there is a chamber with three switches. The Switches must be turned in a certain order. Each time you mess up a lesser demon appears. killing it gives you 600 XP's. If you purposly turn the wrong switch over and over you can continually gain XP's with every kill. It's not hard with a good sword, except that opportunity is towards the end of the game. |

Sorry, but I think this is not good advice.
Monsters respawn on begining of every chapter that is true.
But what is important is that respawning is fixed and predefined.
Creatures will stay where they are, no matter if you kill them or not. And time when you kill them will not influence respawning.
So my advice is: do not worry about too strong creatures, do not spend time with killing them. Proceed with story, kill what you need to kill, make quests and after you will reach higher levels, you can kill all monsters you want, it will be easier and you will not lose single exp. point.

Ok, I know about two such monsters. Troll guarding area with one of focused stones and bridge golem.

Do not try to kill a bunch of hard monsters for experience points! Dont bother hunting all over hell-and-gone for experience points. Following the quests will get you up levels far faster.
