Might and Magic RPG series

Anyone know what is happening with the rights for any future M&M games after the demise of 3do or was it NWC?.

I know the rights for the HoMM series have been snapped up but I don't really like those.

Will there ever be a M&M X?. Unlike many, I really enjoyed M&MIX, despite it's flaws.

New World Computing was owned by 3DO, so both were tied to the franchise. Ubisoft bought the rights to the franchise about a month ago. I've seen some rumors about a new HoMM, but nothings about a new RPG.

Ah well, I hope this isn't the demise of my favourite series of games.

Well, Desdicado, it very well might be. Dte and I have been lamenting this for over a year and a half now. Cheer up though. I am sure something as good will come along.

Right now I am finishing up my fourth trip through M&M7 ... never did make it through 6 twice ... it is just too bloody big! Maybe someday, but I have Gothic 2 and TOEE still to play ... not to mention the possibility (if I ever get broad band at home) NWN multi player!

I think M&M7 must be my favourite game of all time.
I'm playing through the whole series in reverse order at present, 9- check, 8- check, 7- check, 6- in the middle of it just now, fantastic, up til 2am most nights it's still so addictive.

I would love to play TOEE but my PC just ain't up to it!.

For all might and magic fans check out the might and magic tribrute game, there is even a forum on it.

Sadly reading between the lines the game won't be out until 2006 at the earliest.
