| Do I really need the latest patch? |
|
I read that all the 1.08k patch does is fix a problem with the game not starting correctly with certain video cards. I have 1.08j and have had no problems with the game yet of any kind (about 4 hours playing time so far). I have a 3DFX Voodoo 5500. Does the 1.08k patch offer something else I should have? Thanks. |

naah if it runs correctly u dont need it  so enjoy and the patch dosent give u too much also maybe fixes some bugs only |

Patch 1.08k was an unofficial patch for Gothic released for problems the game was having at the time with certain video card drivers, chiefly the ATi Radeons, but there have been many improved releases of ATi drivers since then, making this "patch" is no longer relevant or necessary. |

the patch was also only for german version so u couldent put it to english version |

OK, just to verify: If I'm having no problems with my Voodoo 5500 (other than twice the game freezing on me and causing me to restart the computer), am I correct in assuming that the 1.08k patch does nothing as far as fixing anything else (bugs, added key support, etc.)? Also, if I was to install it, are my old saved games valid? Thanks. |

Listen to Gorath -- the patch is not needed in your case.
I just wanted to give you a little more info on WHY it wasn't needed. |

or maybe it runs even on english version i tryed it onze but it did some crc errors ater that and i never updated it again thats why i thought its onlly for a german version |
