I want to know whether it is possible to assign the left mouse button to walk or run in this game. Also is it possible to assign the right mouse button to perform actions?

In the controls menu there is no ability to assign the mouse buttons for any of this. It would be so much more convenient if this were possible. How can I do this?

In the gothic.ini under [keys] there is the following :

[KEYS]

; *
; * keyboard-Settings
; * the values won't tell you anything interesting
; *

keyShowMap=3200
keyEnd=0100
keyUp=c8001100
keyDown=d0001f00
keyLeft=cb001000
keyRight=cd001200
keyStrafeLeft=d3001e00
keyStrafeRight=d1002000
keyAction=1d00
keySlow=2a00
keySMove=3800b800
keyWeapon=3900
keySneak=2d003700
keyLook=52001300
keyLookFP=53002100
keyInventory=0f000e00
keyShowStatus=3000
keyShowLog=3100

What am I supposed to change? I am pretty sure it is keyup but what value do I use?

The controls in Gothic are different.

In an hour or two you have learned the controls to perfection.
