When I was on my mission to the old mine to get the list from Ian. I noticed the ore on the walls, finding a pickaxe I began to swing my pickaxe at the ore watching lots of chunks fly off, is it possible to actually mine ore yourself? Must not be because I did not notice my ore inventory growing.... If so let me know! |

Nope. You get no ore that way. It's an interesting time-waster though. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I wonder that ore digging have caught how many new players' interest. _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

I thought you get to keep half your ore? And it's only in the New Camp that all the ore goes to the Water Mages? |

Yeah, that's right, not all the ore that are dug in the Old Mine goes to Gomez' pocket. Some of it is used to pay the Diggers their minimal payment. _________________ Thou shallt not kill |

It would be to easy if you could mine ore youself, it would be handy since you could just mine ore for some time and then spend it all at once on a weapon, armor or something else. |

There is enough hardship in the world already. So why climb Mt. Everest?Because it's there! _________________ (@) |

I started pick-axin' away, left him to it while I took my lunch, had my shower, went out for a while. At the end of the day...nada! Not one extra rock in my pocket! Well... at least I don't think so. I didn't really count the exact figure I had oop! |

I don't think this is how it would work. If I remember correctly, the large chunks of ore come out in one large piece. Someone said somewhere to be careful not to drop it on my foot. And I think the book said that it's very hard to make the ore come out, as if the earth itself doesn't want to let you take the ore out. Then there are those huge crusher machines (one is manned by an Orc, next to the lowered gate where you go to kill the minecrawlers). It seems that once you dig out the large ore chunk, you take it to the crusher and smash it to smaller pieces. Then you take some of those pieces and grind them in the other Orc powered contraption next to the smelter. So I don't think you can get ore pieces just by using the pick on the ore chunk sticking out of the wall. _________________ (@) |
