What is the minimum amount of mana required to complete Gothic. I just retrieved all the focus stones and have 5 mana points. Is some sort of magic necessary to complete the game. I think you can complete the game of strength.

There is magic required to finish game. I play as mage-ranger so I do not no exactly how much max-mana points you need.
But in some discussion here somebody wrote that there are enough upmaxmana potions in game to finish it, so you do not need to invest single exp. point to push your max mana points higher.
I have this recommendation for you. If you have all focus stones now, spare some exp. points. You will soon come to part of game, where you will need magic and you will see if you will need to boost max. mana, if yes, you can do it, if no, you can invest your exp. points somewhere else.
And another recommendation: there are rings... for boosting some skills (also for max. mana), so if you will need it, you can buy some of them (it is good solution, when you need to boost some of your skills just for several events).

Actually you can complete the game with 5 mana, you'll just miss out on the fun some of the later summon scrolls provide (at least until you find the potions). |

my mana was allways 5 i found a amulet so sometimes i uset it to use some powwerfull spell  |
