I am currently a level 6 (500 XPs till lvl7) shadow. I got my first mission from raven, and went and got the focus thing for Yberion. Cor Kalom told me to go to the old mine and find the minecrawlers nest.
I am not impatient or anything, but i have seen people on this forum with lvl38 characters, and i have been playing for like a week and i cant do any sort of magic! I am a master of the bow (lvl2) and lvl1 single handed. in my stats it says, no magic. how do i get magic capabilities? i have heard somewhere that later on you have to decide between guard and mage. How many missions do i have to do for gomez till the firemage will let me join the mages guild?
another thing, where can i get a crossbow. i have seen some guards carry them around, but there is no way i can beat any of them up, is there any place where you can buy/find a crossbow? One last thing, (sorry this is so long) if i have a sword that requires 20 strength, does it do any good if i have like lets say 30?
would be grateful for any help on any of these subjects. |

1. Finish the crawler quest and you'll get to choose to become a mage or guard.
2. You'll be able to purchase one soon. The dealers don't have them in the first few chapters.
3. Yes, the more strength you have, the more damage you will do with any one-handed or two-handed weapon.

Magics

You can already use scrolls.
You will be able to use runes as soon as you will join mageguild.
Just finish this mission.
But you will need exp. points, so start saving them.
Crossbows
-----------
You will be able to buy them from teacher that will be able to teach you crossbow skills.
Surely you can beat character with crossbow and you will have one, you will be able to use it, but without skills it will be uneffective.

Don't wait until you're sold a crossbow. Wait until you may train in the skill, then go ahead and beat up Bullit in the guards barracks, he asked for it...but be sure that you're able to handle it .

The longbow takes out Bullit nicely too! I was able to kill him with the bow as soon as I could enter the castle, long before I could beat him with a sword.
