You know, I was thinking....and that alone can be a dangerous thing...
Since we know that you can import 3d files (3ds?) into Morrowind, someone should design a replica of the silt strider control panel...
Then, using the editor, your give the control panel perm levitation and speed of 1000.
Then, someone should use the editor to CHANGE the way all of the silt striders from the land operate.
Then use the editor to edit the way the silt strider pilots handle your money...
Then, once you pay your money, you climb aboard, you get the graphic that was imported. You get to control the Silt Strider. Also, while on it, you should consider allowing your character to rest while driving.
Do you think that is possible? I don't have time to MOD, I work too much, but I know there are ambitious people out there.
I think the same could be done with Horses as well...someone could design a "horse head" that you can control. _________________ Midiboy

I don't know about *driving* a Strider - you have the most fun and encounter the most things when you move across the land under your own steam. You'll never encounter anything if you're fifty feet above the landscape and moving at sixty klicks from any and every city you just feel like parking one in.
But, on the subject of modding Striders, I do think that just wandering along, minding your own business, and seeing one of those things moving across the landscape, enroute to its next destination, could be stunning. It's a real shame we only ever see Striders just standing there - those things are made to be seen moving, herding together, grazing from treetops, calling out to each other like whalesong...
It could be absolutely majestic.
And if someone mods a horse, then we'd need to see mounted NPCs as well. And then there's mounted combat to address.
I'm thinking/hoping some of this would be included in an expansion pack at some point. The architecture of the game seems such that adding something like that - for Bethesda - wouldn't be that much of a stretch, now that they've got the luxury of time. |

yaaaaaa. mounted combat.... like everquest... sorta... i think horses and mounted combat would give a whole new aspect of the game... and there could be a new skill... horse handeling... the better your skill the faster you will be on a horse and the better with your combat.... _________________ Moo. I don't care about mounted combat, cuz lets get realistic here, you'd have to change a LARGE part of the game to include mounted combat BUT i LOVE the idea of horses... if some intelligent and motivated person wanted to create a horse model and do all the wonderful things AND then add teh code to ride them, that would be awesome...
I hate stilt striders and I hate boats. I need a fast way of transportation. Dont we all.... *sigh* |

The first time I saw Silt Striders, I thought to myself: Whoa! I can't wait to kill those big ugly spider thingies! Someone needs to mod the striders so they're killable, just like everything else in Morrowind! _________________ I hate going to weddings. The grandmas would always poke me and say "You're next".
