Poll Results

Oops I completely forgot to change the poll, so here are the late results of our last one where we asked if you liked the Return of the King movie.
On the liking side there were 88.4%, and on the not liking side there were 7%.
The results are clear, you liked the movie. So to balance things a bit I quote one of the comments here:
Part of the movie was awesome. The battles were fantastic, but the movie was way too long and too much was cramed into it. It really needed 2 movies to finish this off. I got sick of the struggle of frodo and sam. I found myself yelling, just run up the freaking mountain and throw the ring in it already will you. I was ready for frodo and sam to kiss each other at any minute.
The end was not good. It seemed terrible rushed, as if it had to be to be cramed into the movie. Overall this was, to me, the worst of the 3 movies. I so wanted it to be great but alas, its just too much in the book to make into 3 movies.

So we move on to the next poll. What type of class do you want to play in an RPG?

You don't seriously consider that quote a balanced quote reflecting your poll do you? When 8 and a half people questioned vote that it was a good movie and 1 and a half say it isen't then the quote should contain 8 and a half parts good and 1 and a half parts not good. This quote is a guy moaning that it was too long and the ending sucked and he/she was sick of Frodo and Sam.I think, according to your poll, that this quote is a bad reflection of said poll.

So what is your point then? I gave a voice to the 7% instead of the 88%. I thought that was rather clear. If you are saying that those in the minority should not have a voice then so be it.

the point?

I think the point of the quote was to show a less common opinion on the movie. I mean, if 88% of us loved it then it stands to reason that 88% of us already know what we liked, but we my not have a clear idea of why the other 7% didn't like it.

Reporting what most of the readers already know would have been a waste of space.

I for one loved the movie, and I was glad to hear a decenting opinion. I don't agree, but it gave me a chance to see why someone else might have not liked it. As to the points made against the movie. Comparing it to the book is the primary reason I did not re-read the trilogy (after reading it a decade ago). And believe me it was hard. But now I have the chance to go back and really enjoy the trilogy for itself and I enjoyed seeing the movie without having judged it as harshly as I would have if the book was fresh in my mind.

Best of both worlds.

excellent quote

Summed it up perfectly. Worst of three great movies. Rushed. Less on content than the other two.

I can hear Jackson now. "For this next scene we'll do a close up on (pick your hobbit) crying."

My point is this.I haven't seen the movie.I see a poll where almost 9 from 10 say it is good but all I get to read is the 1 guy who didn't like it.Thats my point Myrthos

@methusala

I for one really liked the movie but I completely undersign that quote.
I watched it two times but the second time I left the theatre directly after the ring was destroyed because I just couldn't stand all this crying for a second time.
So to me the qoute seems perfectly balanced

Yes, i aggree with the minority, and i think methusala is more upset that it was not a good report of the movie than it not being a good reflection of the pole.

Hmm, what does he mean by this, isnt that what a pole is about. people sharing different opinions, how can one quote sum up a pole at all?
