On the back cover of the Gothic game box, it boasts, among other things, an "epic, non-linear storyline with multiple endings."

Well, I have yet to find these multiple endings. I have played the game as all three camps, and it always seems to go exactly the same. I haven't beaten the game as Swamp camp, but I can tell it will be the same, because it's exactly the same as the New and Old camps as far as I've gotten (up to Xardas.)

Has anyone actually found other endings or storylines?

I think the original idea was to have a completely non-linear game, but probably the money investors got tired of waiting and forced a deadline.

The point of it was to have 3 different endings(one for each camp), but making a totally different game for each of the 3 camps would require a lot more money/time, but I still have great hopes for Gothic 2 being truly non-linear.

How dastardly.

Gothic 2 will be not-linear. Read this preview.

If that's true about the each camp having it's own story is true then it ended up only with the Sect Camps story IMO.

Yes, I heard a rumor about the whole "war" between the New and the Old Camp developing(that was supposed to be part of the quests if you joined one of them), but for some reason they shortened down the game/story.

Don't know if the rumor is true though.

As to Gothic 2, it sounds really promising, and I can hardly wait for the game to be released, but I still have my doubts about the "non-linear" part.
Even Elderscrolls 3 will be a bit linear(even though I think it will be the most non-linear RPG so far).

It's a shame that they had to cut out so much from gothic, even cutted, i like this game really much, how about a "cut outs back" patch for gothic, PB

I would've bought that even if it came in an add-on! It would make the game more replayable, and therefore giving it a lot of "magic".

Yep!

You kill the Sleeper
The Sleeper Kills you
You Dig Ore forever
You Carry Water Forever
You Collect SwampWeep Forever
You run away and hide with Gilbert, Mud and Bal Netbek
You get killed by molerats and bloodflies
The possibilities are endless...

Living with Gilbert sounds like fun! He's already a loony, so you might become one too!

If each camp had its own quests, then the game would undoubtly be shorter the first time, but longer after the 3rd time.
