Probably yes, but with everyting down and still with major slowdowns, not enough RAM + very slow CPU + very slow Graphic card = I do not suggest to try it.

It runs well on my 600 celeron, 198 ram, and GeForce2 MX 200 32MB with all the options turned down and some tweaking.

Framerates
Indoors- 15-50 avg. 22
Outdoors - 10-20 avg 14
Worst Framerate - 9 (outside Vivec or in Balmora)

So it should run decent on your setup...I'm a little skeptical of the 128 ram though

If you're running Win98/ME, you'll get playable frame rates at everything turned to the lowest. If you're running XP, your computer will grow arms and kill you for even trying it - the minimum requirements for XP are 256 megs of RAM. My jerk-like suggestion? Buy an XBOX

-Matt is buying an XBOX this weekend.

I say buy a stick of 128. It's cheap and you need it anyways.

I also have a PIII 500 with 256 meg pc133 and run Win XP. I started Morrowind using a tnt 16mb card. It was barely playable at lowest settings. I knew I needed a new video card so I got a GF4 MX440 64mb card and the game runs real smooth. I play at 800x600 with max distance.

Assume we are dealing with PC133 sdram
128mb = around US$30
256mb = around US$50

RDRAM goes in pair so it will be much more expensive.

If you can spill US$600, then you can get a P4 1.7G w/256mb RAM, 20G HD, Ge4 4200.

With enough memory + faster CPU + good video card = you are all set.

an important question

Very well then, if everybody asks if the game will run on their system I shall do so too:

900MHz AMD Athlon CPU
192mb RAM memory
Windows 2000 OS
3d Prophet 4000xt 64mb graphics card

Would Morrowind probably run on my system?

Yes, it will run.
You will get decent framerates (if 10 in critical areas is enough for you) and decent, but still low quality.

What GPU is this graphics card based on?

Let me clear this out...

This is my computer:
900 Mhz AMD Athlon CPU
256 MB Ram
Geforce 2 MX
Windows XP

I can hardly run it... indoors its okay. But outside... i have to have everything on the lowest, no shadow, no view-distance... so, anyone with a computer below mine... can't run it smooth.

Rawis: I saw it run on a P2 (yes TWO) 400, 192mb and a tnt2 32mb, and it ran at 8-15fps in town at 800x600 1/4 view distance. Not bad at all.

While we're at it...

My laptop, a P3-M 1GHz w/ 256MB RAM and a GeForce2-Go 32MB card, runs it beautifully. I have it set to 1024x768, with draw distance set 3/4 of the way out, shadows off, and low AI distance, and I get a constant 40fps indoors and usually around 20 outdoors (10 in Balmora/Vivec). But my desktop, a P3600 w/32MB GeForce 256 and 128MB RAM, can't even get 10 indoors. Both are running XP.

Meh.
