i need help with the picture book for Greu

i've talked to snake lady many times so far.. then i continued on exploring.. i know i sounds strange, but i never did find that little lake with Greu till i was gathering the portals for the teleport pod.. so Greu asks me for a birthday prsent, and the snake lady in the city isnt giving the picture book.... please dont tell me i have to go all the way back to early part of game before i found the city.. please.. im not able to pickpocket, and my magic is low... sigh

any help is appreciated ... just want ed to clear all this up before working on the temple below the tavern

Have you talked to the friend of Grue in the Troll Camp? If not, you don't know about the book yet and the Snake lady won't give it up.
