Killed Don Barlone, but couldn't find Astral Dominae!!

quote:

As title, how cound I complete this game without "Astral Dominae"?

I'm a Wizardry 8 player from Taiwan, does my version have any difference

with yours? I can't apply the patch file smoothly. Is this possible a bug?

Any recommendation or suggestions?

Thank you very much!!

P.S. 1. I've met Dark Savant in the swamp already; he has complained

about the fake Astral Dominae...

2. I'm in the Iron Mode. Can't use Save & Load to restore game

record...

Has the Dark Savant appeared to you complaining about it being stolen yet? I don't think the AD shows up in Don Barlone's inventory until that script fires.

If you killed Barlone too soon, I don't know what will happen. I'm not sure how you'll get the AD. You cannot complete the game without it.

Wow, you must be pretty good to have killed the Don before you met the Dark Savant in the swamp. I didn't think it was possible...

Hmm, it is strange. Probably he choosed some different way and reached high level before this...

Hmmm. Once the Savant script fires, the AD should be in the Don's inventory. I've never heard of anyone finding a bug with this issue, even without patches.

As far as troubles with the patch, the only one I've noticed is that the main Wiz8.exe sometimes got switched over to read-only and the unzip routine in the patch wouldn't overwrite it. Move the original .exe file to a safe place and run the patch again. That should make your life much better. Without the patch, there's a game-stopper bug that you won't find until you're nearly done (probably 80+ hours in!).

i can think of many ways to kill DB before meeting the DS. The easiest is to do laps in the Monastery killing slimes until you're level 20 or so...extremely boring, but nothing would get in your way from then on...

Eck.
This'll probably stop me from ever becoming a 'power gamer', but I could never stay in the Monastary for that long. Sure, I'd be uber-powerful when I'm finished, but then the rest of the game wouldn't be any challenge.

Actually, because of the autoleveler, the game remains a challenge. If Max Killen is still looking in here, he can tell you a tale of a fateful trip... (bonus points for naming the reference...)

Exactly, I also have never heard about such bug in this forum or in description of all known bugs on main Wiz8 site.
