The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Announced
Expansion Set to Award-Winning RPG Morrowind to Arrive in November
Rockville, MD – September 6, 2002 – Bethesda Softworks™ is pleased to
announce The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal™, an expansion pack for its
critically acclaimed RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind™ for PC.
Scheduled for release this November, Tribunal will introduce additional
content and features into the already staggering game world of Morrowind,
and can be experienced by any player at any point. Morrowind has won more
than 40 awards, including Editor’s Choice awards from PC Gamer, Computer
Gaming World, and Computer Games Magazine.
In Tribunal, a ruthless new king has taken the throne of Morrowind, while an
aging god drifts deeper into madness. Into this chaos you are thrust, with
deadly assassins close behind you and Morrowind's uncertain future ahead.
Your journey will lead you to Mournhold, capital city of Morrowind, to the
Clockwork City of Sotha Sil, and through massive, epic-sized dungeons.
“In Morrowind you get to meet Vivec, but he is just one member of the ruling
Tribunal,” said Todd Howard, Project Leader. “We’ve always wanted to take
you on an adventure to Mournhold to meet the other two god-kings, Almalexia
and Sotha Sil. It’s an awesome city, and the quests there are some of the
best yet.“
Strange and deadly creatures await you in Tribunal, including goblins, lich
lords, and the mysterious Fabricants. Powerful new armor and weapons will
aid you in your survival, and your adventures will be documented in the
improved journal system and an annotatable map. The fate of Morrowind is in
your hands…again.
The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal is scheduled for release this November for
PC. It will be distributed in North America by Bethesda Softworks, and in

I found some info in interview posted recently at gamespydaily. You probably know this already, but I'm very happy for just this feature (as I'll be returning to Morrowind soon and I already forgot half the important things... etc. etc.)
GameSpy: Did you add anything specifically that your fan's were clamoring for?
Todd Howard: The biggest one would be the journal system, which can now sort active and completed quests, and view journal entries organized by quest, which is very nice. I agree. This is a major update! The journal system was a major flaw in the game, especially later on, after you've joined a few factions and guilds and have the main quest to contend with. I'm looking forward to it _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

AMEN! The journal has been my biggest gripe with the game. For a game where you can have several quests going at the same time and each one of them involves some obscure location that you can't pronounce or spell (let alone remember from session to session), there's got to be some way to keep track of it, and the current journal is practically useless. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

There's just one thing more they could at least slightly improve:
Creation of potions (alchemy). It's masochism to do it, when you have tens of different ingredients and only one short, wide window with one slider, and you can't even go back and see what is already selected...

Well, you can go back, but then window with slider is being closed. I mean you can't see what you 've selected and the rest at the same time. Ohh! Sound sweet, wonderful, impressive, fascinating, alluring, tempting, irresistible, appealing, lovely, beauteous, pleasant, delightful...Ohh!
I can imaging i will enjoy Morrowind for years to come with all those plugins and expansion. Ahh... it is first CRPGs that will stay longest time on my hard disk, it's simply a awesome game . I also can imaging more MW's fans will come out with new tweak, utility, etc etc for the game , not to mention some big projects and add-ons... _________________

This is my question. Does Tribunal add to the existing game world of MW? Or is it a stand a lone product? If it is added to MW, will the journal be fixed? How will that work? Thanks. |

Yes, it adds to the world, you can go back and forth to the xp. The journal will be backwards compatible, so the quests you already started will take advanatge of the new system as well. |

I may be the first and only one to say this, but I did like the journal system, it made me fell like it was a real journal. when you right in your diary to you classify every thing or simpl put it by date ?
see, Its true i takes liek hours just to find where to go, its cumbersome, Anoying. nut it just fells real. _________________ You may not alwais start the way you want, but the way you end is totaly up to you.

Yup, its true. I never really disliked the current system either. But the new system will be cool to see which quests you completely forgotten:D |

I will rather be practical than realistic.
Also, current journal system not necessary mean or looks like more realistic. Even in real live we do have more organized journal/diary; we could bookmarking our diary, use book specially designed for diary, or even with just plain books we could "customize" it, like divide it up to several sections, put markings on the side of the diary & such. It is all depend on our own creativity.... _________________
