How do I identify an Item? I have an Identify scroll and I want to identify an Item.

I assume we're talking about BG / BG2 (did I overlook where you specified?). It's been a while but as I recall, if you open your inventory then open the properties of the item, there should be an identify button. Click that and it offers a choice of spell or scroll.

If you're playing with a wizard (and from your previous thread I assume you are) - remember that it is always better to have your wizard identify items. If he has identify spell in his book simply make him remeber this spell, and choose to identify your item with this spell instead of the scroll. If he has no this spell yet, copy it in his book by clicking on the scroll in your inventory and choosing "write spell" (or smth like that). Save before copying, because if it fails, you can always try again, until you're successful. Always remember to check whether you can copy a spell to your spell book befare wasting the scroll. This is how you make your own great collection of spells

I would recommend to carry extra identify scroll in your inventory also, as it is not always convenient to make your party sleep in the open only to identify some obscure sword you will never use
