One thing I really liked about Gothic was the artistic consistency. The outdoors really
looked like a possible outdoor setting. The underground was also spectacular. The pre Roman
architecture of the sleeper temple for example.
(No Roman Arch). Everything was massive columns. Bespeaking a very ancient culture, that has apparently degenerated into a barbaric
tribal society. |

Yes, Gothic was a beautiful looking game. It gives me high hopes for Gothic 2.

I agree on the consistency in the game world (architecture and 'nature' alike), and I'm looking forward to G2 as well... as about everybody else here, I guess , except for red_dog (if he's still around). Still, I'm a little bit afraid Gothic 2 might somehow disappoint me, not live up to what I hope it might be...
There were a few great games with not-quite-as-good successors... there also were great games with even greater successors. I just hope Gothic will fall into the latter category.

I like your new signature Jaz. Although I would have expected you to be the 'one woman Scorpio fan club'. |

Oh, I love Scorpio, that's true . But I guess that he - as a quite nice guy - would have a bigger fan club than just me...

The fourth time through I found a digger in a cave, In the cliffs by the old camp. If you find him you get 100 xp's. Has anyone else found this guy. I find new secrets each time I play. I love this game. |

Yeah I have found him. There are so many little things you never notice the first time through. It's fun to go back and discover new stuff.

The hermit's name is Gilbert, and yes, I discovered him during my second tour of Gothic. I was duly surprised.

I don't know if this is a spoiler, I don't think it is.
Yes, I found Gilbert, you have to climb the big step things on the way to the gates of the Orc land where the guards tell you to leave your ore before you go in. |
