The first scene in Gothic 2 |
|
The first scene in Gothic2, the first thing you see, who you meet and what happens - wonder what it will be like?
I think it would be wonderful to see it like this:
our tired hero barely crawls out of the ruins of the temple,
he can hardly stand up, he sees someones legs and when he looks up
he sees Diego giving him a hand again... ahh
That would be nice [ for me..] but if you get to meet Xardas first
then you propably start in the temple though...
Any ideas? What would you like to see at the start? _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

Yeah... I bet with the banishment of the demon (Sleeper), not only has the physical world changed. The magical and spiritual too. You end up under some rubble... weak... all your weapons and stuff sucked into the same vortex which got the demon. And lo behold (if you were mage) not only your runes are gone, you no longer have magic either!
Thankfully, Xardas didn't actually die. And he's nearby. |

You probably also discover that a lot of people hate your guts; ie. All the survivors of the old and the sect camps. However, I do really like the idea of Diego rescuing you again; maybe from a sect camp fanatic about to kill you. Could the final events of G1 have given you amnesia (another old RPG plot regular) What is the King's attitude to his prison and source of ore being destroyed? Ahh, so many questions, so many possibilities. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Have you seen the trailer? I'm thinking our hero (for the first time) actually DIED in the collapsing temple and Xardas has been able to raise him as a sort of undead (remember "Revenant"?), but in the process he has lost all of his former skills/powers/spells/(maybe) memory and has to start again from scratch (good for PB!!)...
If you have seen the movie you must have noticed his frozen gaze trapped under the collapsed column... is dead, folks!! |

Hm that sounds even better...
Diego was like a best friend there and I just cant write how it would be great
for me to see him at the start, as a friend and saviour just like in G 1.
Hm if you'll get out of the temple the same way you got in then
the Orc camp must be abandoned...or wiped out... _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

Good. After being stuck in an underground orc temple for six months I'd need something to hit. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I think the first mission should be actaully getting out of the temple alive. First you have rondavous (or however you spell it) with Xardas before escaping. You just make it out but Xardas gets caught behind. Of corse hes not dead, he'll appear later in the game just when you are in trouble and need help. _________________ =Moderator of The RPGDot Shadows=

Or, Xardas wakes up and takes all of your stuff and becomes evil, due to the Sleeper's Magic. _________________ Make good choices. |

After you destroy the Sleeper, the Dark God that created the Sleeper strips you of all your abilities/items. **Then you see Mud and he kicks you in the face, like what's-his-face punched you, and runs off.** Xardas in the beginning is trying to hold off the Dark God's attempt to turn him to evil so he helps you escape and right after that is completely taken by the Dark God...then you need to kick his ass.

Or better yet...maybe the Gothic hero is really dead. Leaving PB only one option for us players......the new hero will be Mud! Yes, we will all play GII as Mud. _________________ = Member of The Nonflamers' Guild =

No, not Mud. That woiuld just be sick! Ahh too early in the morning. Mental shutters failing.
I like the idea of the hero starting the game off trapped in the ruins of the temple & needing to be rescued, but by who? Diego yes there did sem to be a bond of friendship/respect. Xardas I think that he will be in the sae predicament as the hero. The big guy with the axe (Gorn?) & the guy from the Sect camp similar situation to Diego, afterall you helped them out a hell of a lot.
I got into Gothic late, but really enjoyed it. I hope with the troubles that the game does get released. |

I don't think you need to worry about it being released or not. I'm quite sure that, in spite of all the troubles that have occured, JoWood (the publisher of Gothic II) officially announced it would be releasing the game. But yeah, the prospect of it being cancelled was, while it was in question, very much something I dreaded. Who knows, maybe they'll show a JoWood CEO pulling the main character outta the rumble in the video intro ... ... Okay, I'll shut up now. |
