Broken Switch outside your cell

There is a broken lever outside your cell in the beginning. It's
just outside the door where you escape (the disused cell).
I've been able to repair it, but the gate it seems to work with
doesn't open or close. Does anyone know what this switch
does or is it just decoration.

You playing the demo? As far as I recall in version 1.15 anyway, the lever isn't broken...

Using 1.15, but it was upgraded halfway through a game and is still broken. Does it do anything though?
