Interesting, very detailed review.
Thanks for posting it.

Very fair review I think. Thanks for mentioning it. However when the reviewer comments on the graphics quality he seems to have missed things like the IMO pretty amazing outdoor environment and the downright awesome detail on skeletons for example (moving skeletons I mean, not the piles of bones). These are some bad ass poly rich skeletons! Okay, they slow the game down to a crawl, but they're like nothing in UT or Q3.

Contrary to that one of gamespot, this review reflects the value of Gothic very well!

Well, why? Maybe that was the review that made me search the net for some more Gothic info, finding this forum and in the end deciding to buy the game. And it's hard to play the game when it's probably still in some post office or inside a plane or something...
Any way, judging by the great review the game got, there will be a few new players soon, I guess. Too bad it was posted so close to holidays, most of the people already did their shopping (or made their shopping lists) I guess.

Am I the only one confused by the gamezone review? So the central character is called diego? thats news to me. Surely someone who had played the game and felt their knowledge of it to be competent enough to write a review should have been aware that this is wrong. This makes me wonder if the game was given a quick glance and then judged. It certainly brings the mark into question. It would be a shame if this poor and uninformed review dissuaded anyone from buying the game.
