Is it worth starting a new game with a Fire Magician

I just finished the game with a mercenary, now a Dragon Hunter, so I would want to start over again, and I am thinking to join the Fire Mages, what do you think, will it worth it, is it good in their guild???

Mages are the strongest guild, and the most interesting one, if you ask me... You might find it harder that the two other in the beginning, but towards the end, it gets quite easy, provided you learn the right spells. Worth playing, imho...

I think the mages aren't that hard. I first played as a knight and it was terrible on the isle. The mages are GOOD!

i've played thru all 3 guilds their all great its easily worth doing as well there all quite easy really in my opinion mages are the funest most interesting and also the hardest. Then theres the drgon hunters who are quite fun but there camp is S*** there about medium dif. Then theres the paladins which i didn't like nearly as much they are just far to easy nothing gave me the slightest trouble and the quests are quite boring in some cases

I finished the game twice. One time with the mercenaries and then with the Fire Mages.I just can`t compare the two because they are totally differen`t.When you play with the mercenaries there is a whole different atmosphere compared to when you`r playing with the Fire Mages. One thing bothered me:the game get`s very easy at the end when you are a fire mage. When you got a Holy Missile or a Large Fireball rune you can easilly kill any monsters from a very long range. What I liked is that the game get`s very hard at the end when you are playing as a mercenarie. You always have to confront you`r enemy face to face and it`s really hard when you are attacked by 3-4 Lizard Men.
I will start the addon as a militia. What is you`r opinion? Are the militia 'fun'?

Playing as a mage means having a hard time in the beginning but it's the most easy guild to be with in the end.

I liked militia/Paladins best of the three guilds, Mages were sweet, too, but I didn't like playing as a Merc. In the end it's all up to your own personal taste, so you'd better decide for yourself.

@bigboy_: They weren't as bully-ish as most of the mercs, and the Paladins have - in my book - the best-looking armor. Apart from that, their mix of combat skills and rune magic (especially the healing/vs. evil runes) makes them quite versatile characters, for not to say the easiest of the classes. Militia/Paladins are pretty much a 'Jack-of-all-trades, master of none' class.

Thanks for so many replies!

I have some more questions:
1. So I should only join the Fire Mages if I only wan't to cast spells, right?
2. Is their best armor good?
3. If I join them, i'll still be able to train all the weapon types, right?
4. To how much should I thain the mana?

they are diffinitely worth playing, not only are they the easiest but also the funest guild in the game
but most of all they are the most spread out guild in the game since you can learn nearly everything avaible in the game provided you choose the right master in the city

You can train fighting skills, yes, but, as mana costed 2 lp-s per point for a paladin, so everything except mana will cost double for a mage... I personally recommend you get both your 1h skill and strength to the highest possible level before joining. Try killing as many animals as you can at that point, and get those stats up before they get too costly.
