plz tell me just how badly wrong I've gone :) |

My first party (chosen just cos I liked the look of the characters, with no idea how the stats work out) is as follows:
Felpur Lord, Rawulf Warrior, Elf Ranger, Human Gadgeteer, Faerie Mage, and Dracon Priest.
Are they doomed to fail? |

If this is your first time playing a Wizardry game, I'd say start with something a bit more simple.
You can probably win with any combination, but that's a group I think a veteran player would play with.
I'd say switch your Dracon Priest for a Dracon Fighter. Keep the Faerie Mage. Try a Drawf Priest. Keep the Elf Ranger (or try a mook). I'd probably switch the Gadgeteer for a Bard (but that's just my personal preference). Then I'd have a Monk. That was what I played my first game with and I did fine with them. With the Priest, Mage, Ranger, and Monk I had all the spell books covered. The fighter was my tank (backed up by my monk and ranger). Then the priest and bard made good secondary fighters in a pinch. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I prefer the Rawulf for the priest. Dwarves are so slooooooow. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

6 Faery Bishops!!!
hee hee, just kidding.
You haven't done to badly, the biggest problem early on will probably be the dracon priest until you've gained enough levels with him to increase his piety to 100. After that you should be fine.
Just make sure you know which stats you need to increase and focus heavily on them until they are maxed. |

Heh! if there were six of those things that start with a C, the fairy bishops would be lovely, turn them all to Ninjas when they get all the non-alchemy spells (L18 already, actually)..... |

I'd say the party is simple enough and balanced enough to make a decent game, even for the inexperienced. But other people have and will disagree with me in the future.
My suggested changes, if any are to be made: Class-wise, I'd say 5 out of 6 are good. I'd drop either the lord or the fighter for a monk, personally. Lords are often badmouthed in this forum, as they are reportedly hard to develop (although I have no trouble with my Rawulf Lord who is by far my best swordsman and a decent caster, which gives my priest a big break). I would keep the lord, but suspect many others would say keep the fighter. By adding the monk, you'll gain psionic spells & critical hit, which are the big things you currently lack.
Race wise, to match classes, here are some suggestions: Dracon ranger, mook monk, rawulf lord, rawulf priest, anything but a lizardman or faerie gadgeteer, a faerie mage, lizardman fighter. These suggestions are just that - they work well, but shouldn't be considered the final word by a long shot. _________________ The world itself shifts and changes and fades to mist like the strings of a minstrel's harp, and mayhap the dreams we forge are more enduring than the works of kings and gods.-Robert E.
