US version in Europe: May 8th

Some very reliable sources tell me that Morrowind (US version) should be available in stores in major uropean countries by May 8th - that means just in time for the long weekend.

I have no way to guarantee that, but just wanted to spread the good news.

Distributor is UbiSoft. They will send the collectors edition to the shops - it's completely identical with the US CE (it IS the US CE). Around May 2oth, there will be a US version with a localized manual - the fully localized version will be available in August for Germany and France.

Since UbiSoft ditributes the US CE, the chance that you'll have it on Wednesday is very large .

Hope that helps.

I suppose that Rend is talking about English versions. Probably not semi-localized .

I just mailed UbiSoft, and they were quite certain that NOTHING has been decided yet. And if CE will arrive in Europe, it will take some time. There is NO chance it will be with us this week, he said.

Whoever was your source at UbiSoft, must have been misinformed. There was a press release by UbiSoft late April, stating that they will distribute the US CE within days after the US release. If you can read german, check the news archive at morrowind.de - they still have it there. Plus, my local dealer - well informed on things like these - has confirmed May 8th to me.

Well, I hope you are right for those european folk that didn't prebook the bloody thing. 8th May. Man, I can't believe my bad luck. I prebooked and wont get it before the 10th. (that is if I am *cough* a tad lucky, probably not.)

Cherio from Belgium.

PS: The one from Netherlands which ordered from Cdromshop.com and had it send over allready, could you post something when you got it and how you like it? After all... Een nederlands review zou toch wel is leuk zijn.

Maybe not....

Well, considering the 8th is in 2 days, Ubisoft still hasn't said anything, all the online stores here in the UK still have dates anywhere between the 17th and the 31st. It doesn't look much like it's being released any time soon, here at least.

I'd certainly trust a Ubisoft employee over a fairly old press statement

Just talked with UbiSoft again, and they say:

"No advertisement has begun, no shipping has been indicated. The game will not arrive this week. Once again sorry, Ubi soft"*

*translated from dutch. It appears only Germany will have it then.

So it will come to Sweden the 8th to?

In my local gameshop they said that had been delayed until next week.

My Europe dealer also says the 8th. (You Rend. )
