I'm waiting for Gothic 2 of course... apart from that I'm waiting for Thief 3, Deus Ex 2... and that's about it. Perhaps System Shock 3 . _________________ Jaz |

I don't think anyone here stated that they did *not* like MMORPGs. The original poster asked which RPGs we were anticipating that are not online only games. I'm looking forward to a few online RPGs myself, only not to a very high degree. But that's beside the point here _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

I'm glad other people are looking forward to Lionheart. I had a wander thru the BIS forums and found a lot of negative comments which surprised me. Lots of comments along the lines of "It's not going to be any good. The guys that did Fallout left several years ago" which I thought was unfair (and missed the point).
The posts on non-fantasy RPGs prompted me to consider a wider scope and I thought I might look into Sea Dogs 2. Has anyone actually played the first?
As for MMORPG; I don't play them for several reasons (just my opinions)
- They lack the story arc I like so I don't find them satisfying
- I'm not looking for a 3D chat environment
- Not interested in the race to create an uber-character / level up
- Time constraints, server availability in Australia and (not important if the right game came along) price. |

Sorry, I have no earthly idea why it posted that three times. I doesn't give me the option to delete the other two so maybe a mod will.
Done.
@Arhu: I'm waiting for Divinity! _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I can't wait for Lionheart to arrive. I just have a feeling it's going to surprise a lot of people. I guess people are bit skeptical that LH won't live up to Fallout's legacy, but I believe LH is "the next big thing" in the current SP CRPG lineup.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm keeping my eye on Divinty as well Arhu, but I probably won't get that one unless RPGDot gives it the thumbs up on the review. _________________ = Member of The Nonflamers' Guild =

Ohh, how could I forget Deus Ex 2 and Thief 3. I think I'll be in heaven when those two arrive, not to mention broke Although in Thief (1 or 2), I was a bit annoyed when you had to battle those weird monsters and stuff. Just basic humans would have been enough.. _________________ "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance."

I didn't like the weird undead monsters in Thief 1 (with the exception of the Hammerite specters) whereas I loved the Children of Karras in part 2... the mean steam machines ! Mexican heartshot, anyone ?
Oh, how I long to play Thief 3. If it's anywhere near the other two parts (especially 2)... atmosphere-wise. I won't be broke when those games arrive, but in severe need of time... _________________ Jaz |

By the time Deus Ex 2 and Thief 3 arrive, I have probably spent all my hard-earned money and live on the student allowance I get. Buying two games at once will result in me eating only porridge for a couple of weeks _________________ "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance."

Well RPGDot has to be a bit carefull here of course. Afterall, both Moriendor and I have a fansite for Divinity and Arhu even worked a bit on Divinity last year. We have a very good relationship with Larian Studios (the developers) and I'm going to visit them next week. So we've decided that none of us will review Divinity in order to not appear to biased. RPGDot will have it's review of Divinity but from someone you might not expect it from
As to the BIS forums. As with many developer forums there are people with biased opinions there as well, who proclaim false statements and make them sound as the truth. The Fallout development team has not left BIS. There are members of the team that left, but the most important ones are still there. The mostly negative comments recently are about the lack of new information from the developers. But then again...... we might have something for you about Lionheart early next week.... keep your eyes open _________________ Kewl quotes:

Arx Fatalis, Divinity, IWD2, Gothic2, Exp for NWN?, Fallout3, Lionheart, and no one mentioned Devil Whiskey, Static and the Ultima 1 remake. MAN I gotta get another job to pay for all this, but then I wouldn't have time to play! _________________ Oh, freddled gruntbuggly, thy micturations are to me....

I did not really like Divinity, the camera view was very strange. And that made it hard to control the character. |
