Levitating is not Flying!
Telekinesis is here to help you get this objects which are too high.
Levitate is here to help you crossing some place where there is no ground....

"Levitate"-spell

"Levitating is not flying!"? You're damn right about that Julien but you are also very wrong, levitation is lifting something vertically, when you levitate you should move only up and down like an elevator, not horisontally (if so, then very slowly).
I still wonder what this so called "levitate" spell is good for since everywhere you use it you can't move across to the other side since the other side has 0.5 m higher altitude.. And the fact that you _can_ move up a litte if you look up and move forward, but you don't move up enough in the time the spell/mana lasts and you have to drink several potions to get there. Thats VVS.. an other thing that also is Very Very Stupid is that you're glued to the computer because of this allthrough great game, I'm a bit upset about the levitate though. But this is one of the best FPS/RPG's since the days of Ultima Underworld, wich by the way I have played through completely three times. =)

I think that not having the ability to go up and down is the perfect balance for this spell. Otherwise it would make getting from place to place a little too easy. I also enjoyed the levitation puzzle near the loner troll.

Next to fireball, levitate is my most used spell.

Actually, you *can* move up, but you have to use objects in the environment to do it. You just have to remember that when you cast levitate, you will float at a tiny bit higher altitude than where you cast it. You will stay at this height no matter where you go. If you can find a place with some ramplike pathways, you can use these to increase altitude. The high paths on the water goblin level, for example. Heck, I've even used barrels on their side to get higher on occasion.

Getting just that bit higher

Also try jumping and releasing the levitate spell at the same time.
If you time it right, you start levitating at the height your jump reached...

Then again, it doesn't really matter coz you're supposed to use it, as indicated earlier in this thread, to just cross some gaps, and whenever needed, use telekinesis instead.
