The (underused?) Plugin/MOD polls

I like the idea of the polls, but the few times I've been unhappy with a mod I've declined to use them. I find them too simplistic, and I hate to simply vote yea/nay on someone's hard work. I'll use two examples here which I would post on the threads after voting, if that were an option that was given.

The Canalworks Merchant - beautiful mod, but a thieves guild member. This is not stated anywhere in the info, so if your character has offended the Thieves Guild, you will find yourself unable to take advantage of it. Quite a disappointment for me, I felt that should be stated somewhere before you install it.

Rich NPCs - very helpful in the stages before you've built your strength to haul all your loot home so you can choose just the best and still be able to sell it. However, I may yet remove this from my system. He's added a self-promoting script to the greeting dialog from his modified vendors which comes up randomly FAR too often. At first it was cute - now its becoming increasingly annoying.

Neither of these comments reflect on the quality of the MOD itself however, merely personal observations that affect their usefulness to me. So if I were to rate them, they would both get a high rating for execution, but a lower rating for "playability" perhaps (I'm not sure what to call it)

Maybe this is why the polls don't appear to be getting as much use as people would hope. Most game reviews break things down before giving their overall opinion and I suspect most people would prefer that option as well.

You can post your comments into every thread in Plugin Depot forum... Please do it, it will help other people.
You can also write your own "reviews" of mods, it will be very valuable for us.

Yes! If we could get some good comprehensive reviews that would be great. Please post your thoughts.

That's strange. You're supposed to be allowed to comment and vote. Perhaps when they fixed the polls or when the new optimizations were implemented that feature was affected.

But I do fit that criterion.

I suppose I could write a bit about the ten or so mods that I have running.
