alright, i'll keep it short 
i thought i had lost all my former HD stuff..from formatting...i completely forget that i putted all my good shit on my Dad's HD via network connection..my dad just asked me..hey what is this directory "1"??? we looked into it..
all my gothic saves are still there..from where i left off i can play again tomorrow...DAMN COOL!!!!!! oh yeah..and alotta other stuff is saved..like 3d models and anything...BYE for now good friendz  |

Congrats! I know what it's like to lose some valuable material from your hard drive. That's why I do back-ups religiously now. |

how often should one reformat? i heard every 3 months btu that sounds like a lot, what does it really do for your computer |

I've never reformated my hard drive. I usually defrag it once a month. That works just fine and keeps things running quickly. |

I format about once a year. I don't install alot of stuff. The more you install, and uninstall, the more of a need you have to reformat. |

I format about once every 3 months or so, but then, I install alot of beta software, and some rather "iffy" shareware, which tends to degrade my OS alot faster than most folks.
(Bein a Techie has it's downsides
