SpellForce: Breath of Winter - Review @ Gamers Europe

A remarkably low score of 4/10 (remarkably in so far as the original 'SpellForce: Oder of Dawn' scored pretty high consistently) is the result of Gamers Europe's 'SpellForce: Breath of Winter' expansion review.
Breath of Winter is the first expansion pack for Spellforce, the RTS and RPG crossover game from Phenomic, more famous for the legendary Settlers series. Building on what was a great start, Breath of Winter comes along with no explanation of the end of the Order of Dawn. In forums, word abounds about what the heck happens after you defeat the massive soul forger, yet Spellforce: The Breath of Winter focuses instead on a spin-off story, set during the original Order of Dawn campaign.

It`s clearly stated in add-on more then once that it takes place after original campaign. No review should be made after playing one mission or so. In my opinion end of Order of Dawn shows that mage was traped in some kind of time-loop. His last action started all the sequence of events. So the end of Order of Dawn was also its beginning.

4 out of 10 ?

this addon deserves more in my opinion.

loading times are bad, enemy AI could be a bit better, but there is still a lot fun, quests, npcs, weapons, battles and surprises in the game. There are a lot of options to customize your avatar and make him unique.
The gfx are one of the best i have seen so far in rts-games.

7.5 / 10 is my score.
