Ack! Missing Moons? Dull water? Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is a repeat. I searched, but didn't find anything already posted on the subject.

So, I've been playing the game and loving it, but am curious about something. I've seen the screenshots with the twin moons and read reviews which speak of the killer water effects... but I don't have either other these in my game. My graphics are set pretty much to the max (GeForce 2) and everything else seems to be working fine, but the water is grey and the sky is only (albeit beautiful) stars.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think your card supports pixel shading for the water, and about the moons, well, I dunno.

for the water you must have a geforce 3 + (non mx) or a raedon 8500 video card with pixel shaders, about the moons, just like real life they aren't always visible, it helps if you go close to the volcano to see them.

Hmm... I have GF MX 400 with 64 RAM , and the water aint that bad - certainly not gray? It looks like... water, really. I see from above to below & vice versa, i see ripple when something moves in water - or i move in water with changed wiev, weather effects water as it should, allthough waves are yet to be seen - so what the hell is there more to it with GF3 and above?

Have you seen any of the screenshots of water when you are viewing them with pixel shaders? Freaking amazing. Looks kind of like mercury. Very cool.

I just wish I had a kick-ass card with pixel shaders.

Now I'm sad. I have a GForce 2 MX 400 video card that I bought recently for the last Everquest expansion and it won't show pixel shading. It will be a while before I can afford to upgrade. That water looks awesome.

I had a GF3 Ti200, and maxed out everything and my water never looked like that. Quite disappointing. Between that and the TV out sucking @ss, it went back to the store from whence it came, once I found out about the fix for my Herc 3D Prophet 4500. The only difference now between the cards that I can see is a bit longer loading times when changing regions.

You have to turn on "pixel shaders" in the options for the water to look like that, all geforce 3's have it and geforce 4's, cept for the MX version.

A GF4 MX won't cut it, it is just a beefed up GF2 MX.
Practicaly criminal of NVIDIA to name it that way....
