This is a must-have for anyone who's previously downloaded the Wiz8SpellAbility spreadsheet, as it now has support for profession-changed characters. Even if you only have single profession characters, there have been a couple of other very useful improvements since the last release (v1.05) which will make life easier.

And for those you that are asking, "What the heck is the Wiz8SpellAbility spreadsheet?"

It's a spreadsheet that allows you to enter in your spellcasters current stats, and it will tell you what spells the character can learn, or for spells that they are not yet able to learn, it will tell you how many points you need, or why your character can't learn the spell.

Visit http://wiz8.web1000.com/ for all the details.

And it is alright.
If you click on that link, you will see main wiz8.web1000 page. Actually there is last new about new version of this program.
There is written "To read all the details, click here". If you click on word here it will redirect you to another page:
http://wiz8.web1000.com/#Wiz8SpellAbility

In left upper corner is written:
"Click here to download the latest version (v2.00, 356Kb)".
Click on word "click here". And you will see another page:
http://wiz8.web1000.com/HowToUse.html with readme about that program. When you will go to bottom of this page you will see green letters:
"Click here to download the latest version (v2.00, 356Kb)".
Click on words "click here" and download can begin.

I don't have Excel, but I do have Microsoft Works Spreadsheets which will read Excel spreadsheets. But I get a statement about the file being password protected and I can't read it until the password is removed. Is there anyway to get an unprotected copy? Thanks.

Well, I know of at least four people who have written about not be able to access the web site, and interestingly enough they are all from Germany (assuming they're not telling fibs about their "Location:").

I have no idea why, but it's a strong coincidents! Just send an e-mail to wizardry8@mail.com, tell me which country you're in. I'll send you an attachment with the file and I'm writing a question to the web service provider to see if they can shed any light.

On the topic of passwords, quoted durectly from the Wiz8SpellAbility.txt file...

"the cell contents, worksheets and workbook are locked, this means you can use the spreadsheet fine, just can't change anything or see the formulas. This is to prevent someone from downloading the original, changing the contents (possibly for no good) and re-distributing from another web site."

A non-protected version will NOT be released. Sorry, I am aware this causes issues for non-Excel owners, again if you read on the web site, it is being looked into.

Regards,
Wolfie

Well I could not access the website from home as well (all tries before were from work), so I tried rightclick "save target as..." for the howto file. That did indeed work, and as there was the file download link there at the bottom I could use the rightclick method as well.

I have the spreadsheet now, so no need for email.
It is awesome and will help a lot I bet. Thanks for creating such a potential tool.

To everyone who has been getting redirected trying to visit http://wiz8.web1000.com/

I've recieved a reply to my enquiry to the web service provider, and it contains some BS about non-English countries get redirected because they generate too many 404 errors or soemthing to that effect.

My reply to them :-

"This seems like a total load of BS to me, ok granted one of the terms of use was that my web page content had to be in english (which is fine caz' thats the only language I know), but why limit so called "non-english" countries?

"What quailifies as a 'non-english' country anyway? A lot of Europeam countries teach/speak english as a second language in my experience, So just because Germany speaks German has their primary laguage you're going to prevent them from accessing sites you host? Surely, if someone accessed a site who cannot read english, THAT is what would prevent them from accessing the site any further."

Anyway, the end result is, it looks like Germany and Poland (these are the two countries I know about so far), are being actively blocked for what reasoning by the web service provider. I've already had to move service providers once, and simply not interested in moving it all again.

Send me an e-mail to wizardry8@mail.com and I'll be happy to forward a copy. For those than can browse the site, please use that option, as you'll get access to all the other Wiz8 info available on my site and will be heaps quicker than waiting for me to read my e-mail.
