Help! Crash to desktop straight after leaving Census Office

Hi,

Just got Morrowind and it's fantastic (so far), but everytime I've finished creating my character and leaving the census office, it crashes back to the desktop. This has happened each and everytime I've tried it. What makes it worse is that you can't save it in the tutorial.

Can anyone help please? Thanks.

GF2 MX400 (4.12.01.0776)
SB Live 5.1
Win ME

Oh puh leaze....I know you're just trying to help but that reply is a little condescending. I've just checked the offical Morrowind forums and it seems a lot of ppl with GF2's have this problem. I'll try downloading the latest detonator drivers as they suggested. Somehow I don't think that's the reason though.

Possible remedy

As you most likely know, it could be absolutely anything or a combination thereof. I run XP (not ME) but I can tell you I had the same type of dump to desktop problems (not quite as severe). I found a program called TweakXP - it solved my problems. If you go out looking you may find a similar tweak program for ME. Good luck. If you want to spend some money, I would suggest getting a new video card as that is likely to solve the problem as well.

Had the same problem

I had the same problem. It really ticked me off at start. I solved it by installing the latest video card drivers. My rig has a GF2 Mx440 under win 98 so its similar to your. Try it, might work.

Ok, I finally got it working! It was in fact the latest detonator drivers. Very strange indeed...

Entrails: I know what you mean.

Customer: "my pc doesn't power on when I press the 'on' button. What can I do?"

Tech Support: "Is it plugged in?"

Customer: "hang on, let me check......oh yeah, oops it works now!"

Anyway I'm gonna go play Morrowind. See you guys in a few months!
