What should I have before I leave for island on ship

I just picked up this game after not playing for a while, and would like to finish. Do I need the Dragon Sword? How about the Dragon Armor? I'm at the point where my captain is telling me to 'make sure you have what you need, because there is no turning back.'

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry I should have provided some more information about my character.

I'm a Dragon Hunter level 28, str 95, dex 69, HP 436. I originally joined the mercenaries. Before I put the game down for a few weeks I seem to remember something about needing a dragon sword and dragon armor, I guess but I'm currently using Stormbringer. Just wonder if that will do for the island. Thanks in advance!

Wow, I wonder if I can solve this than, because I've scoured the game world for quests and I only have a very few left that I haven't completed (maybe 5). Also, they want something like 20,000 gold for the Dragon Armor, not to mention dragon scales. I'm guessing I have to go find someone that can train me in dragon scale removal, who knows where he is. I guess I should worry about the 20,000 gold first.

You can still get scales and blood from the dragons if you've already killed them befor getting the knowledge for them. Did it once that way. The only critter you can do that for I think.

2 trainers, one near fortress and one across river from Marcus' mine.

Wierd, they were all there for me. Wonder if it has to do with the version number.
Well maybe Sir Markus will get lucky then.

OK, the dragon corpses appear to be intact. Now my only question is, where is the trainer that teaches how to get the blood and scales from dragons? I found him once but for the life of me I can't remember where. Thanks in advance!

One guy is in a cave turning a spit across the river from Marcus' dig site near old mine in G1. The site where you would have found Grimes. Head away and cross the river and you see one DH standing near the shore.

The other guy is at an overhang near the fortress where you killed the dragon of earth or rock. Head up the hill to the fortress but bear to your right to find the overhang.

OK thanks for everyone's help. Now I just need to figure out where to come up with the money to make this armor and sword, but I'll figure that out after getting the blood and scales.
