Ive recently become a guard at the old camp.. but i do really want to be a mage.. have i ruined my chances of becoming a magical wonder?

can i still use magic if i am not a mage?
being new to the style of game in general i would appreciate some help with this..

Luckily i have a save just begining chapter 2 as a shadow.. however this is still many XP's from me so i dont want to go back unless necesary

Yes, if you want to be mage, you should not be guard (they will give you choice - firemage or guard).

note for Ikea-Boy: it means you can have guards armor and be firemage, but it is not necessary, because firemages/watermages robes are cool and strong. But it doesnt mean you can be guard and firemage at one time.

I think the lowest of Guard armor has a bit more weapon protection than the lowest of the robes. Or you can just sell one of them.

Fire Robes are CRAP. All of the. Even light Guard's armor is better than Heavy Fire robe.
