I've been playing Diablo 2 for a while now - finished on easy level and now half way through medium level - and now I've just installed LOD and converted my character to the new version.
The problem is this.....Although I didn't pay attention to my stats before conversion, I know for a fact that I didn't have a minus score on my lightning and fire defense and yet I have now. I still have exactly the same equipment that I've been using since the beginning of the second difficulty level.
Anyone else seen this or know why it is?
Thanks |

when you go from normal to nightmare mode in diablo 2, your elemental resistences lower... a lot. i think maybe MORE so in the LOD exp. and also they lower again in hell mode... but ill make a reccomendation, if you are going to play the EXPansion LOD, make a new character, because if what you are saying is right you missed playing act 5 in act 1... which is bad, and there are a few known bugs to occur when making an old school char an expansion char.
good luck. _________________ Moo. Just do it, purse your lips and let out a MIGHTY MOO!

Thanks for that.
I appreciate it and may yet start again, but....surely even though I missed Act 5 in easy mode I can just do it anyway in Nightmare?
Really, I just don't want to lose my beloved amazon after being with her for 45 levels....also, do you reckon that's a high, low or about normal level for mid-nightmare mode? |

Hmmmmmm.....................
please ignore the comma after the word, 'really' in my reply above. It makes the whole sentence sound....something...pompous maybe?
Either that or I sound like a school teacher.

You get minus 40 to all resistances in Nightmare and minus 100 to all resistances in hell. You might think that you have been playing a while but trust me, you have a lot to learn. I suggest that you keep playing with your amazon until it becomes to hard.
Oh, and are you playing single player or battle.net. Its a whole new ball game if you play online.
Anyway the best way to learn is to make mistakes and learn from them. If you want to create a really strong character, then I suggest you read the guides on the internet and build your character that way.
Oh, and I almost forgot, what version do you have just 1.07 or have you got the lattest patch. Many of the skills change in the later patches but I will be able to help you with them if you have a earlier version. _________________ =Moderator of The RPGDot Shadows=
