BIG gothic fan. wants recommedations of other games

Hey guys

Been a big fan of gothic 1 and 2... and now almost reaching the end of gothic 2 (can feel it near ( ) . Whilst i wait in anticipation for an english version of the extension pack, Wondered if anyone can recommend me some good games that i will probabily enjoy.

I like the rpg's i have tried, but gothic is my favourite so far (to be honest i have not played too many rpgs anyone, i just dont know of many)... i will trust the advice of fellow gothic fans.

Cheers.

Again jaz thanks buddy
You too Daedalus. yea i relise you can play it more, but i would like to try another game or two before going back for second helpings (As some things will not be new anymore).. Looking forward to trying to be a good archer next time.

Also are there any decent online Rpgs.. where you can battle/trade/do quests explore and live the lives of the characters?
I hear there are some very deep games like this, just i dont know any will try the site though jaz.

Have you played Deus EX?It for sure is one of the best games ever made.So it isn't a surprise to anyone that I'm waiting Deus ex2 more than anyother game.

Also try Severance the blade of darkness.

You know, the real answer to your question is: With the exception of Ultima IX (which is 4 years old), There is *no* game available that can seriously match the important features of the Gothic games. I'm not saying they aren't as good. Just that they won't have enough of that "Gothic stuff" to make them like the Gothic games.

Think about the key features required:

1. Mostly continuous 3D world (i.e. few, if any breaks to load the map)
2. Life-like world with very active and animated NPCs
3. Branching full speech conversations
4. 3rd person "behind the back view" (1st person could subsitite though)
5. Core RPG elements like quests, item discovery, stats, character interactions
6. An interesting plot that drives your actions
7. Real time combat

After UIX, I'd say Morrowind comes next in hitting those points, but even then we are losing many important features....
