Fallout: BoS Preview at Xbox.IGN |
|
The action oriented Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was previewed at XBox.IGN. Here's a bit:

Hardcord RPG fans of the PC game might look at the transition as a sellout, but Interplay likes to see it as a transition, a slight departure, and least for now. One could also see the glass half full. The series has not died with the massive changes seen at Interplay in the last three years, and the company feels confident enough to deliver it to the consoles in a more action-oriented fashion. I'm happy to see it. Plus, I'm not a real big RPG fan, so this rendition makes it far more palatable.

Using the render engine from Snowblind Studios and creating the rest of the engine from scratch, Interplay's Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel instantly shows off an incredible blend of highly detailed character models, bevy of special effects (smoke, particles, water, fire), and a multitude of lighting effects. We saw and played the game today, shown from an isometric perspective and occasionally zooming in and out depending on the situation. It looks just as sweet as Baldur's Gate, but positioned entirely in the Fallout universe. Meaning it's dark and gritty, filled with blown out buildings, deserted urban landscapes and rogue enemy gangs.
|

"Though it looks like a dank, apocalyptic version of Dark Alliance, Interplay's action-adventure endeavor is filled with strategic, shooter and RPG-ish gameplay elements."

I like this one too: "Hardcord RPG fans of the PC game might look at the transition as a sellout, but Interplay likes to see it as a transition, a slight departure, and least for now. One could also see the glass half full."
A slight departure? Well it's departed pretty damn far considering its not even on the pc any more. Half full because at least they made something called Fallout again? More like the glass is 5% full instead of 95% empty and no that doesn't make me happy. |
