From here out, you're ability to get higher circles requires three things,

the skill points to learn them when they become available
meeting the mage who will teach you
entering the correct chapter in which each level becomes available

About the only one you need to plan for is the skill points one. As a mage, your number one priority is being able to get magic circles when they become available, so you should always have about 20 or 30 skill points available to ensure that you're within a level or two of grabbing the next circle when it shows up.

BTW, the Storm of Fire spell that you should now have is about the second best spell in the game. (There's a 6th circle rune that's better). With Ice Block/Wave to freeze opponents, and Storm of Fire to annihilate multiple ones, you've got about everything you need to take out everything you'll face.

i have never used ice block. I prefer to use Horror. In 4th chapter, when i go to the castle second time, I drink the potion which makes me run faster and then run around teh castle to gather all orcs around me. Then just before they hit me i cast Horror spell so they get confused. And just before they run away i cast fire storm twice and everything around the castle is dead. HAha lol. fastest way of killing orcs around castle. About 50 orcs at one time.
