Guess X-dANGEr doesn't like a good story *grin*
@All - DS isn't all that bad ... when I feel like watching a movie, but don't have one to watch I play DS. It is a great time killer ... but given the body count I think it should have a screen that summarizes it for you. In some ways it's kinda cool to see that you've slaughter 139 midgets, 342 missle midgets, 102 swamp spitters etc. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

Morrowind. I hate every part of it, the dull colors, the stupid journal, the 1st person fights, everything! _________________

I guess it comes down what is definition of “horrible” game. Some of mentioned games here I actually liked and some I didn’t, yet they are far from being horrible. _________________ Money - An article which may be used as a universal passport to everywhere except heaven, and as a universal provider of everything except happiness. |

What the thing that made you guys think that i lost it, i find DS a game without any capabilities, you can't fight in it as in gothic, this what i am talking about.
About Ultima, i didn't see it, but my friend told me that it is not a good game, he told me that it is a very bad game. _________________

Well, which of the Ultimas are you talking about? There are 14 (or 15?) Ultima games in all, split in 3 different types of games, only a few of which had round-based combat if I recall correctly.
You might like the two Ultima Underworld games, they are 3D, and you have to 'fight yourself'. Arx Fatalis is a nod to the UU games (let's say, it's like UU with better graphics). _________________ Jaz |

well... the first one (red hammer) was good. but the second one (resistance) was terrible IMO. in the third mission you already got troops to lead, while in the first mission you were just a civillian (ex-soldier) _________________ Always wondering how it would be... |

Even though I've played Diablo and Dungeon Siege, my "most horrible" game comes from the experience I got from playing it, not the actual game. I waited many years for Morrowind to come out, got it preordered from the USA (expensive as hell) and it turns out Bethesda had mastered the art of "sucking the fun out of a game" (And now they're doing Fallout 3. The horror!). Now that I think back upon Morrowind I realize there's absolutely nothing I like about that game. When I rated it here on RPGDot (after about 3 hours of playing) I actually gave it an 8 or 9 I think.. Boy, do I regret that. _________________ Swedes visit NordicGamers for the latest game reviews in swedish! |

I dunno guys, I think you should go easy on MW. While not the greatest game ever made (in my opinion), it is quite the accomplishment, and to many people it is the greatest game made.
I liked it enough to get submerged in it until the end, and I found the 'atmosphere' to be very engrossing. The world was a little flat tasting, but that was made up for by the immerssion factor (mitigated to some degree by the random crashes). Many times I found myself playing just to see what was around the next tree. This vistas can be breath taking. Yeah the combat was a tad dull at times, but hey, there was more than once that I walked away from a fight feeling "wow that was close" and wincing as I walked to get a beer from all the wounds I'd taken.
I can not see an agrument putting MW as a horrible game. Over hyped I'll give you, but horrible? No. Try Pool of Radiance 2 for horrible *grin* _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

I didn't like Morrowind at first either but as soon as I got the hang of it it was very much fun I agree with all what Lintra already stated i don't want to repeat his words.
//Operation Flashpoint : Resistance had the best option included in-game then. Full Multiplayer support and server searching. (To think you had to write host's IP in in the previous games (Cold War Crisis and Red Hammer) Otherwise multiplayer is the best thing about Operation Flashpoint besides Easy to use, hard to master Mission Editor) _________________

Ive never understood the vehemently anti-MW crowd, mainly because it seems to facilitate most things "true" rpgs are supposedly required to have. It's totally non-linear, but they pout and stomp about not knowing where to go or what to do. Isnt that a good thing, being able to go where you want and do what you want?
The avid non-linearists begging for linearity in MW is one of the ultimate paradoxes in RPG gaming.
Take out a pen and paper, keep your own journal of quests.
Hit the key, switch to 3rd person view. really, it's quite easy!
Use mods, make the game as you like it.. Dont abuse trainers or the economy. _________________ “Then away out in the woods I heard that kind of a sound that a ghost makes when it wants to tell about something that's on its mind and can't make itself understood, and so can't rest easy in its grave, and has to go about that way every night grieving.”-Mark Twain |

There is a difference between something being non-linear and being completely devoid of direction.
Morrowind is completely non-linear, which is perfectly fine. But the problem most people have with it is that there is almost no direction to the gameplay to complement that freedom.
Morrowind is the cop-out version of non-linearty. Just giving someone a sandbox to play in and expecting them to keep themselves interested is unnaceptable. _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |
