Venim Manor rescue and affair?

Ok, I've got the quest to rescue one of the councilor's sons from Venim. But interestingly enough, i keep hearing rumors that he's having an affair with another councilor's wife. So I figure I just need to find the evidence and then I can blackmail him

Well, I've been all through all the council hall bedrooms

but no luck. Anyone know if this is possible. I like solving these things in different ways, and just figured there had to be reason for the rumor of the affair.
