Yes, I tried it for several hours and I really liked it (graphics, feeling of strange world, fights etc.). I will buy this game later (probably when it will be a little bit cheaper) because I have too much to do and too many games to play :]. |

It's pretty true to the game, although you don't get a feel for the large open areas. The crypts give you a good feel of the combat and there's a touch of humour that hints at what you'll find. However, you can't really just wander around and set your own agenda like you can in the full game. |

This choice is not so difficult.
What do you like?
open areas x deep dungeons
classic view x first person view
If you like open areas and classic view, buy Divine Divinity. You will get very good RPG with good story, many fights, nice character developement etc.
If you like deep dungeons and first person view, buy Arx Fatalis. You will get very good RPG with good story, many fights, nice character developement etc. |

Is the demo pretty true to actual game? Its like 400 mb!
It shows something, but just something. It will serve well to decide if you should or should not buy this game. But it is important to keep in mind that it will be get better later in game (in full version). |

Ouch! Tho i think NwN aint that bad, this particular barb just stuck right out of that review and hit, dead-on.

Yes, I know there's lots and lots of modules made by other people out there and some of them might actually be better than the module that NWN shipped with. Fantastic. I don't care, because that's not the content that's provided with the game. I'll acknowledge they may or may not exist, because the game does have a splendid editor, but I wouldn't review the original Quake based on the merits of Team Fortress. Giving a game a good review because you're forced to turn to what others have done with the game isn't par for the course. BioWare provides the tools to make things, that's swell, and we'll leave it at that.

Yes, Arx is very good, especially if you like first person perspective. Buy DD and get someone to buy you Arx for Christmas!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Woah hold up there. NWN is an excellent game purely because you know the rules system is tried and tested. 3rd edition AD&D rules are pretty easy to get to grips with and the game looks great and the story whilst not the best that Bioware has done, isn't shabby and keeps you going. One mistake I made when playing NWN for the first time was to leave the Level Item Restrictions box unchecked, hence the game became incredibly easy and got rather boring towards the end. Tick this box and play it with AD&D hardcore rules for the full experience.
I would however recommend Icewind Dale II if you haven't already played it, I think it has a much better implementation of the 3rd edition rules and was overall a much better experience than NWN. However (contradicting myself again) there are two official addons coming for NWN and one free community co-created mod which will extend its gameplay quite a but I would imagine.
Divine Divinity was really good but perhaps a tad too long IMHO. It did however suck me in and make me lose track of all time during my gaming sessions. It doesn't have to be hack and slash, but to be fair it usually ends up that way, and its the most fun
Hope that helps!
Edit - Arx info.
Sorry I skimmed over the Arx posts. I also have a copy of Arx which is a great game and very detailed. The graphics are alright and the story is surprisingly good, however I often get lost and lose track of the main quest. Plus the journal is pretty much useless. Make your own notes in a pad. The magic system is by far the games best feature. Very B&W, you use the mouse to draw the seperate runes in the air and this forms the spell. _________________ The Adrenaline Vault
