do I even have a chance with a 16mb radeon?

I got a compaq 2715 laptop just after Christmas. I decided after years of owning a macintosh, I couldn't stand it anymore...I wanted to play all the RPGs I'd been missing. So...since I still had the mac desktop, I opted to get a windows laptop.(also *needed* portability)

I've enjoyed Planescape, Arcanum, and now Wizardry 8...but alas, it looks like my little mobility radeon 16mb card isn't going to be enough for the latest crop of RPGs.

Does anyone know if despite the minimum requirments listing a 32mb video card...will Morrowind run on my system? (512 mb ram, 16mb radeon, 1.2 Ghz pentium III, windows XP home edition.) Can other system specs make up somewhat for a poorer video card?

Sigh....The geforce 2 go and the new mobile geforce 4 wasn't out at the time I got my laptop. Looks like gaming is an expensive hobby....I might not be able to keep up with. ..and no...I'm not going to buy an xbox just to play this one game. that'd get me in deep doo doo with the spouse.

You can try it. You have good chance that you will be able to run it. But very badly.
If you will have 3000Mhz CPU and 8 MB graphic card, it will be still not enough for average game experience.
If you will decide to try it, buy it somewhere you can return it.
