So far I don't like the game. I am a big fan of Diablo (both 1&2), but I find something in the demo irksome. OK, the graphics are cool, but that comes so far with the demo at an unreasonable cost -> the game is actually lagging me. They may optimize their engine for the official release, I know but the problem stays for now. There is no voice acting in the English demo, and the overall music so far sucks. Tha quests in the demo are boring, as is the combat. Actually, as I am now playing Lionheart, which is another stupid hack'n'slash game, and I am replaying Diablo 2 with the 1.10 patch, I have points to compare. In the Sacred demo, there is not a single challanging combat sequense, except so far the fight in the semetary near the Seraphim starting point. In Lionheart, there are tons of challanging fights, especially for a magic character, but the only big problem so far is that there is a lack of healing potions, and with no Restart in Town option, the gameplay overall sucks. Diablo offers both -> I mean unique skills and at some point really tough monsters (if speaking 1.10 and ladder play the new Diablo II monster sounds really terrifying). And I have yet to see such a thing in Sacred -> the skills seem pretty generic, and some of them are the same for the Gladiator and the Seraphim. Needless to say, the special moves are supposed to be unique (and they may be) but the ones Ive seen so far on the Seraphim and Gladiator are completely dumb and almost generic (see a pattern?) and they look completely alike. Another thing is that in the demo there is no pure magic character, and so far I doubt the usefulness of one. I know that I can't judge from the demo for the whole game, but so far horses, although a cool sounding option, seem to be a nuissance rather that an innovation, as with the problems with clipping there are in the demo. And so far the story seems even worse that Diablo, and that is a notable achievement, as the actual story in Dialbo is one of the dumbest things ever I have seen in a roleplaying game.

I share many of your concerns regards Sacred. I'm hoping the final version is better than the demo. I'll know in a few days time, when it's released. If it doesn't live up to expectations ....well it's only £17.99. I've seen bigger wastes of money in my time.

Lady Armageddona: I fully can follow your concerns. I won't even try to defend Lionheart, as I feel the same way for this game. But regarding Sacred, I still want to point out some hopes, not facts, but hopes, as I don't know the full sacred game yet.

Diablo2 first act in "normal" mode is/was also a walk in the park, no real challenge, besides perhaps the end-boss. A good way to learn to handle the interface, the same pedagogic learning curve is hopefully used in Sacred. They can't expect that it is only hardcore Diablo 2 players who will play Sacred, eventhough I think a lot of them will.

As you point out the Story/quests in Diablo 2 is just a thin coating, and I'm not saying that Sacred will be much better, but I don't think it will be worse either. A demo is mostly always a bad indication about the full games potential story strength. Sacred offers this freeworld form, and I "hope" this also means a more continuing developing story than Diablo 2. But if it's interesting or not, only the full game can tell.

Regarding character, I agree that they could have chosen to let us play 2 more different characters, but regarding special skills for each character, I think more diffirent skills for each character will be available as you character raises in level, just like diablo 2, and it's about the same principle, that you can put more points in each skill.

In the german demo version there is voice acting, so I'm confident that the full english version also will contain voice acting.

But as I said before, I have no facts yet, just suspicious hopes. I still want to give the full version a try.

Well, I certainly agree with you, Michael C, and I will also give the full version (the full English version, I may live now in Germany but my German suck really hard so far) when it comes out.

In the full version there is only 1 minotaur. So they crancked up this cave for the demo.

Actually, I'd rather say that this game is perfect for those who have played Diablo2, but want something more modern and graphically richer.

It's not far off Divine Divinity in playstyle either.
