Specific Bags of Coins?? Weapons??

Okay, I'm in the Valley of Mines now--having a ball. I've been to the castle and have better armor at last but the better weapon proves far less as good as the one-handed Orc Slayer even though my two-handed skill is higher.

First question... How does a specific weapon relate to the skill?? If my two-handed skill is higher then one-handed should I be using a two-handed sword even though it states that it does less damage then a one-handed weapon??

Second question... I have picked up three bags of coins along the way marked as Gorn's leather bag, Diego's old leather bag, and Olav's bag. I've opened them all and one has 2000 coin in it. I've restored though thinking that they might tie into some quest?? If not--I need to know this though I seem to have plenty of coin.

I hope the armor will help as I get back into the game now. There are new tough monsters to deal with now like the fire lizards men and animal both.

Note on an earlier post. Probably around level 13 or so I revisited the lighthouse bandits and this time successfully used the technigque described by someone in that thread of climbing on top of the structure near the lighthouse with all three bandits buzzing around underneath with swords drawn. No one climbed up on top but it took a little while to pick 'em off with the crossbow--MUCH FUN getting rid of those baddies and Jack was happy sitting in his lighthouse instead of the docks.

Thanks. Let me know here about the weapon strategy and bags of gold please.

1. Your skill(1H, 2H) is used to calculate the chance of a critical hit(=hit where you do the most damage)

If the difference between 1H and 2H fighting is that one is below 30% and the other one near 40% or more, you should take up the weapon of the kind you have the highest skill for. When you have above 30%, the difference gets less important and you should take the weapon that does the most damage.(Certainly when it's a 1H)

2. Diego's bag is needed for a later quest. The other ones can be used by you. The quest that's related to Gorn's bag is only available when you talk to Milten about the shortage to buy Gorn free.(you have to have less then 100 gold for that.) Anyway it doesn't matter wheater you opened the bag already, cause you can put your gold in a chest before talking to Milten.

If you are looking to free Gorn, go to Diego if you don't have enough and he will contribute some to the cause also.
