Yesterday I was reading a walkthrough who said that even if u join the swamp camp, u can become a watermage later on. ITS FALSE, you cant.anyway it didnt work for me so....

I think whoever did that walkthrough meant that you can become a Water Mage if you join the Old Camp, not the Swamp camp.

EDIT

You can become one if you join the New Camp, too.
